about

William notes: The intro guitar sequence was from a spontaneous recording with Brian Gibson while I was learning and mixing the "WO/UND" EP for Wax Pig Melting.

A little backstory; John K. owner and operator of Naked City Audio had done the engineering for the album. But due to the bands implosion, there was no hurry to release the album. To make matters worse, the project was sort of incomplete. So, I decided that I was going to take the project home and start mixing it. Well, going from Logic 9 to Logic 8 meant that I had couldn't just open the project with a click of the button. I had to manually piece together everything; they were labeled fine, but I wasn't there for what was a keeper, what was garbage.

So, I said "Fuck it, It's my album now, I'm going to record lead guitar over it". My brash decision meant that I needed to learn the songs and Brian was super into the idea himself. So while talking about a potential reboot of Wax Pig Melting; we recorded that.

Ricky "Freeway" "Baby Blue Eyes" Ross makes his vocal debut to a song he never knew existed as well.

The second portion of the track was from a jam session at Ramy Almerie's house. Bobby had jumped on the drums, Ramy was looking for a power cable for a guitar amp. So, I took the SM57 we had as a vocal mic and started tapping the strings of my bass as I fretted the neck awkwardly.
