about

This jam was successfully captured on October 8th, 2015.

William notes: I attempted to name this song "Gentrification Nation" but Bobby insisted that the name of the song has to be "Taco Truck parentheses Supabass end parentheses". Douridas giggled about that definitive statement while smoking one of those cheap cigars while Shannon jubilantly laughed about the waah waah waah waah supabass part while I was fascinated in the current moment on how I made a run-on sentence while remembering things that happened four years ago. I'm pretty sure Douridas, Shannon and I were pretty buzzed on bourbon and cheap beer.

We, the band, had ran through the main lick a little bit before recording this jam. But Bobby brought a lot to his vocal performance to this recording spontaneously. Occasionally, Bobby would get the opportunity to take on his hardcore punk front man persona. We had played a show where Joshua Cohen was our fourth member, second guitarist. We played songs from his Pale Antique back catalog and he played some of our tracks, trading vocals on certain songs, all that jazz. It was at the Double Down, so we played a punked out version of "Descent" where Bobby didn't play guitar at all. For reference, go pull up the song, listen to it again. Now: Imagine that it's about double the speed, Candy Warpop's guitarist fuzzed out guitar and Mr. Bobby Pesti delivering the lines somewhere between Jello Biafra and Keith Morris; cherry on top was incorporating lounge singer banter between verses and screams.

Anyways – This was one of those moments where Bobby delivered the goods for no one other than Shannon, Joshua, and myself… oh and my parents who were in their bedroom either listening to the insanity in Charger Stadium, or more likely watching Food Network with the volume on high.
